Meet The IWG Board

Heather Kois serves as the president of the Idaho Writers Guild. Having loved being a part of the guild in the past, she stepped into the role of president in 2025. An English teacher by day and writer in any spare time she can manage, she brings unbridled enthusiasm to the Idaho Writers Guild. Inspired by the community the guild has served in the past, Heather joined the board to ensure that the guild continued to bring education, community, and support to writers in Idaho. Heather lives in Boise with her husband and children as well as a very loud parrot.

Candice Azalea Greene is the author of a dozen short horror stories, including contest-winning "I Didn't Have Arachnophobia, Exactly" featured on The Grey Rooms Podcast. Her debut novel DAUGHTER OF BLOOD AND ICE is out now on Amazon.

Valerie Robertson has 11 science-fiction romance and historical romance genres in “print" under the pen names Val Roberts and Jane Reynolds, available wherever ebooks are sold. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Boise State University and a PMP, which comes in handy for her day job as a technical writer.

Hannah holds a BA in Editing & Publishing with a minor in Applied Linguistics. Her debut fantasy novel is on submission with traditional publishers while her research on the linguistic impacts of war is up for publication with Cambridge University Press. She grew up in the woods at the edge of the Palouse and loves working with nonprofits across her home state. In her free time, she's learning how to speak Scots Gaelic.  James T. Lambert writes from his office/land yacht ‘Bertrude’. He’s been polishing his craft since his first NaNoWriMo in 2011, working on his overnight success. He breaks things for a living (software testing), enjoys writing, reading, movies, comics, theater, boardgames, Scotch, craft beer, hot air ballooning, and having too many hobbies. 

Renee Settle has been writing since she was a child, she was inspired by her childhood being a first generation latch-key kid along with her brother. Her brother was her first victim/admirer for her seriously prolific active mind. In this age they label it ADHD.  She started seriously writing in 2011 and joined the IWG 1.0 soon after. She developed and led a workshop on how to write called "12 Minutes A Day". She enjoyed mild success and traveled across the country leading the workshop for different groups. Life has a way of creating plot twists and Renee's life twisted like a tornado in Kansas. Now, she's gratefully joined the IWG 2.0 and is excited to nurture the guild as a board member. Her passions are, in no particular order:  Collect fountain pens, journals, useless information, and dragons. Write stories that scare your soul, make you cower in your bed, covers drawn to your chin, begging for the morning sun.  Finally, write her own life experiences and inspire ordinary people to write their stories. If that's not enough, she hosts the podcast, Wild Wisdom Writer (tm).
